To all, who was like me not able to fix it: follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2515657 (see comments above). I tried 3 of 4 steps to fix it, described on Microsoft's site and only #4 got it working again. Simply uninstall and install it again... Thanks to all!

Thanks for the post but it didn't help me to fix my problem. My sidebar seems to be corrupted - when I move any gadget on the desktop - they either appear in black or didn't show at all.

It's would be such a waste when the ISS is decomissioned it some pont in the future and this thing was not given a go. It's good to see the new magnetic spectrometer being launched to it. I think the station is better to test new hardware that anything else. Why not a new optical telescope?

I had the same problem after catching a Trojan- my gadgets where only blank pease...nothing worked for me...My solution was: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
with pseudo-graphic number, you'll see it before zone number 0.
It seems this is a bug of Adobe flash player update, though I am not sure. The pseudo-graphic number they speak of before zone number 0 looks like a miniature upper case "L"."..just Delete it and thats it:) good luck
